Halitosis, how to avoid bad breath
If you suffer from halitosis (bad breath), you should brush your teeth three times a day: as soon as you get up in the morning, after lunch, and immediately before going to bed. You should also follow the instructions given below:
- After brushing your teeth, use your toothbrush without toothpaste to clean your cheeks and tongue, cleaning as far back as you can reach. This operation is easier if you use a tongue cleaner instead of a brush, according to the instructions given in it. You can buy tongue cleaners in chemists.
- After rinsing your mouth, put 15 ? 20 drops of Clysident Plus on your tongue. Using your tongue and your saliva, push the foam around your whole mouth for two minutes. Spit out the remainder and DO NOT rinse your mouth with water, so that the effect lasts as long as possible.
- If you eat away from home, clean your mouth as indicated as soon as you can. If you have no other option, you can do without brushing your teeth at midday, but you must brush your teeth and clean your mouth in the morning and at night.
- Avoid having a dry mouth. If you do, chew dental chewing gum such as Biotene, sold in chemists.
You should visit your periodontist for a check-up and treatment, as periodontal disease is one of the main causes of bad breath.
Other causes may be problems in the upper or lower respiratory tract or in the digestive tract.
Naturally, a diagnosis must be made before treating the problem.
