Dr. Pardiñas Lopez participated in the Tarnow Alumni Day and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists

Dr. Pardiñas Lopez participated last Thursday December 6 in Tarnow Alumni Day, a meeting held at Columbia University, in where alumni and friends of Dr. Dennis Tarnow met.

During the morning they discussed some of the recent scientific papers published in journals of international impact. In the afternoon session, speakers from different countries presented various topics related to implantology.

Dr. Pardiñas Lopez also attended Decmber 7th and 8th to the 3rd Annual Symposium on Implantology at Columbia University, organized by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). This Symposium addressed Transformational Concepts In Implantology.

An international panel of implant experts shared their knowledge and expertise in areas including: managing complications in sinus augmentation procedures, peri-implantitis, scientific evidence and clinical applications of full ceramic implants, treatment planning for alveolar defects, management of the labial plant of bone in immediate implant therapy, and advances in implant esthetics.

The program reviewed recent data and clinical observations regarding bone grafting and discuss alternative treatment options. It described a predictable yet simple method to augment the narrow anterior maxillary ridge and narrow posterior mandibular ridge for implant placement.

Surgical and clinical advances of a new wedge implant shape to simplify narrow ridge treatment were presented and preliminary results were reviewed. Participants learned important concepts in the treatment of peri-implantitis and solutions to pre and postop infection. Attendeesl became familiar with techniques to help simplify treatment complexity and predictably provide an outstanding clinical outcome.
